Not good news.  Not news that FEELS good.
 
God WARNS us.  Danger coming.  We are vulnerable.  Exposed.
 
The Parable of the Unrighteous Steward
 
"Squandering his (Master's) possessions."--v. 1

     The owner will take the vineyard away.  The opportunity.  The assignment.  He will fire you.
 

 

 
--WAKENING
 
     Out of denial
 
     "Against You, You only, I have sinned, and done what is evil in Your sight.  So You are justified when You speak and blameless when you judge."--Psalm 51:14
 
     Agreement with God
 

 

 
--WORKING
 
     Busy activity, shrewd (phronimos, "right use of the mind, intelligence, wisdom")
 
 

 

 
--WEALTH / WORSHIP
 
     "His grace toward me did not prove vain. . .but I labored even more than all of them."--1 Corinthians 15:10
 
     "The fields are already white for harvest."--John 4:35

Prostitutes, tax-collectors, drunkards
 
Jesus talked about them in His stories.
 
Didn't pretend that they didn't exist.
 
Didn't believe they were the only ones who needed the gospel.
