The gospel is our sure footing for spiritual conflict, and the peace that comes to us in and through the gospel helps us to remain unyielding and steadfast.

 

The gospel is a “Gospel of Peace” because…

 

1.      Christ, we have peace   God.

 

“Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ” Romans 5:1 (NASB).

 

 

2.        Christ, we have   peace   God.

 

“Peace I leave you, My peace I give you; not as the world gives, do I give to you. Do not let your hearts be troubled, nor fearful” John 14:27 (NASB).

 

 

        His peace…

 

  • Calls us to LIVE PEACEABLY with others.

 

With other believers because Jesus    .

Ephesians 2: 13-22.

 

With all people because it confirms the Holy Spirit’s   and  .

 

“If possible, so far as it depends on you, be at peace with all people” Romans 12:18 (NASB).

 

“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness…” Galatians 5:22 (NASB).

 

“Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called sons of God” Matthew 5:9 (NASB).

 

 

  •   us to live   in a fallen world.

 

“Let your gentle spirit be known to all people. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and pleading with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus” Philippians 4:5-7 (NASB).
