Often referred to as Palm Sunday, the story tells us that Jesus told his disciples to go into a neighboring village near Jerusalem and find a colt tied up waiting to be ridden for the first time (19:30) just as prophecy foretold.

Zechariah 9:9, “Shout, daughter of Jerusalem! See your King comes to you, righteous and having salvation, gentle and riding on a donkey.”

Not everyone loves a parade. Those opposed to Jesus could not see him as a conquering king.

One pastor said, “There is nothing more stubborn and wild than a young, unbroken donkey. For Jesus to ride an unbroken colt was a miracle that ranks right up there with walking on water!”
