    Richard Foster wrote in his book Celebration of Discipline, “Prayer is like any other work; we may not feel like working, but once we have been at it for a bit, we begin to feel like working.”

     

     

    1. Request His   to fulfill your  

    Jesus’ first and highest request is for the Father to be glorified through his life.

    Paul wrote in 1 Corinthians 10:31, “So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.”

     

     

    2.  Request His   to fall on His  

    Jesus does not request the Father to keep his people from the suffering and troubles of life by removing them from the world. Instead, Jesus asks the Father to guard them by keeping them safe from Satan.

    Dietrich Bonhoeffer said, “It matters little what form of prayer we adopt or how many words we use. What matters is the faith which lays hold on God.”
