There is a saying, “Whether you believe in the devil or not, he believes in you.” Spiritual warfare is real, something every believer should expect to encounter when running their race.

The Bible Exposition Commentary writes, “The life we live either fortifies us against Satan’s attacks or makes it easier for him to defeat us.”

1.    God’s   of  .

Those who accept the gift of God and open that gift are provided with his righteousness through their faith.

While we cannot stand on our own, He is able to stand firm against sin, and He enables us to stand with him. That is why we put on the armor of God anyway, to stand firm and resist the devil.

2,   in God’s righteousness.

Clint Arnold says, “In light of Paul’s earlier statements in this letter about the pursuit of righteousness, [the breastplate of righteousness] also indicates the importance of cultivating righteous living.”

Isaiah 59:17, “He put on righteousness as a breastplate.”
