Follow Along with the Message

Mark Lenz wrote in his book 6 Key Areas in Which to Develop Margin, ”Margin can be defined as the space between our load and our limits.”

Dallas Willard said we need to learn to, “Ruthlessly eliminate hurry from our lives.”

Learn that…

  1. Margins Were Made for Mankind

James Brooks wrote, “The Sabbath is not an end in itself or the greatest good. Jesus affirmed his right to determine Sabbath observance.”

Elisabeth Elliott said, “Rest is a weapon given to us by God. The enemy hates it because he wants you stressed and occupied.”

If you work your fingers to the bone, and never stop to rest and relax, you will miss God’s best for your life.

Learn that…

  1. Margin is a Man more than a Day

Sabbath is more than a day. It’s a person. Jesus is our Sabbath.

Jesus said, “Come unto me, all you who are weary and burdened and I will give you rest.” Shabbat—rest for your souls. (Matthew 11:28)

Jesus is Sovereign over the Sabbath.

It is far more important to have a relationship with the Lord of the Sabbath than to follow a bunch of rules and regulations about the Sabbath.

Salvation only comes by resting in Christ and trusting in God.
