Follow Along with the Message

The gospel will change your LIFE.  "If any man be in Christ, he is a new creation" (2 Corinthians 5:17).  "I have been crucified with Christ. . .but Christ lives in me" (Galatians 2:20).

The gospel will change your NATION.  "How blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord" (Psalm 33:12).  "I will heal their land" (2 Chronicles 7:14).

GOD'S PLAN

God has a plan.  Worship God.  Worship the true God.  Take His name.  Invest time in Him.  First four commandments.

5th Commandment moves from vertical to horizontal relationships.

First subject is family.  First order is to honor.

Not self-centered, others centered, shaped by duty rather than personal desire.  I am third.

"In the last days. . .men will be lovers of self, lovers of money, boastful, arrogant, revilers, disobedient to parents, ungrateful, unholy, unloving" (2 Timothy 3:1-2).

"Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right.  Honor your father and your mother (which is the first commandment with a promise), so that it may be well with you, and that you may live long on the earth.  Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger, but bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord" (Ephesians 6:1-4).

"His sons brought a curse on themselves and he did not rebuke them" (1 Samuel 3:13).

GOD'S PROMISE

     "You will live long in the land."

"Woman, what does that have to do with us?  My hour has not yet come" (John 2:4).

          "Woman, behold your son!. . .Behold, your mother" (John 19:26-27).

Boston Strong/America Strong.

Restore vertical relationship.  Restore horizontal relationships.

Recovery.  We can begin again.  "Our Father which art in heaven."  Learn again the power of respect for authority, love for the Law giver, loyalty to Someone higher than self.  The power of duty rather than desire."

"If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and    to cleanse us from all unrighteousness"(1 John 1:9).

Strength will come.
