Ask yourself this question; Are you seeking the kingdom of God or are you seeking the kingdom of our country?

 1.   Kingdoms are not   to God’s  .

David, had the ability to recognize that earthly kingdoms are not the true kingdom of God.

The Beatitudes in Matthew 5:1–11 show us the kingdom of God celebrates the poor, mourning, meek, merciful, pure, peacemaker, and persecuted as those who will see God and inherit the kingdom of heaven.

Andrew Whitworth wrote in his book The Stories Our Churches Tell, “Celebrations in our Christian communities should lead to our citizenship in the Kingdom of God informing our earthly citizenship, rather than the other way around.”

One Southern Baptist leader said, “We serve the God of Abraham, and of Isaac, and of Jacob, the God and Father of Jesus Christ. The promises that he has made will outlast Mount Rushmore.”

2. Earthly Kingdoms are ___________ but God’s Kingdom is  ______________.

We can acknowledge the good in our culture, while simultaneously confronting its evils.

We are called to live in a flawed world but not of it, to be reminded of the world we were truly made for and belong to.

Being kingdom minded and seeking first his kingdom helps us get everything in the correct order. That order is God then country.
