Follow Along with the Message

We can be a giving church with our resources as well as our rhetoric.

Don Guthrie once said, it takes 9 encouraging words to overcome 1 discouraging word.

  1. Barnabas Sacrificed for Others Financially

John Phillips refers to Cyprus as the “secular Canaan”

The encouragement Barnabas offered came at no personal cost yet it effected the greatest change.

  1. Barnabas Supported Others Fiercely

Barnabas believed the Lord, he believed that God could save someone like Saul and change him into Paul.

Can you imagine what would have happened if Barnabas had turned his back on Paul like the others did?

Acts 11:24 Luke writes, “‘A good man,’ is Barnabas, ‘full of the Holy Spirit and of faith.”

  1. Barnabas Strengthened Others Faithfully

It costs us nothing at all to be generous with our words—and it could cost others everything if we are not.

Is your giving producing encouragement for the next generation of givers?
