Being Big

He wasn't a big man.  Physically.  No evidence of it.

He was a big man in character and courage.  Be strong!  Be courageous!

Is Hunters Glen a big church?  God help us!  Small (humility).  Big (courage and faith).

BIG PEOPLE HAVE INTENSITY

     "O sun, stand still at Gibeon" (v. 12).  I need more time today. 

     "My food is to do the will of Him who sent Me and to accomplish His work" (John 4:34).

     I eat this up!

BIG PEOPLE HAVE INTEGRITY

     The Gibeonite deception--chapter 9

     "He swears to his own hurt and does not change" (Psalm 15:4).

BIG PEOPLE ARE INTERCESSORS

     The sun stopped

     "There was no day like that before it or after it, when the Lord listened to the voice of a man" (v. 14).

     Call on the name of the Lord.  Ask.  Seek.  Knock. 

     "Therefore, confess your sins to one another, and pray for one another so that you may be healed.  The effective prayer of a righteous man can accomplish much" (James 5:16).

     Corporate prayer.  Individual prayer.

     "I am not looking for the FOUNTAIN OF YOUTH.  I am looking for the FOUNTAIN OF SMART."
