According to Ella Carter and Philip Watts, in The Science of Hunger and What Makes Us ‘Hangry, “When we are hungry, our brains are essentially starved of glucose, meaning that our ability to control our emotions is reduced, as is our ability to concentrate.”

The wilderness is a place where you…

  1.   what  .

What temporary and earthly desires do you need to give up in order to be fully satisfied in your relationship with God?

Jesus quoted Deuteronomy 8:3, “He humbled you by letting you go hungry; then He gave you manna to eat, which you and your father had not known, so that you might learn that one does not live on bread alone but on every word that comes from the mouth of the Lord.”

Wycliffe Commentary reminds us that, the hunger of the Israelites led them to recognize their need to depend on God as the source of their bread, rather than on the bread itself.

Bruce Milne said, “Jesus, once tasted, obliterates the need for further satisfaction.”
