Demo is officially underway on the Imagine Initiative phase one project. (See pics below.) Thank you for your generous giving towards this endeavor. We are not far off from having phase one fully funded. Join us this Sunday and hear a brief message from our Imagine Strategy Team on our goals for this project. Remember this project is primarily about creating a secure space for our growing Children’s ministry birth-6th grade in Building 4 and adding space for our Adults to start new Life Groups in Building 6. We are preparing now for who God is bringing to the HGBC family in the very near future.
This Sunday, I will continue in our series XO as we learn together about how we can love our enemies. Because of the love God has for us we can love others (1 John 4:7). We are called to love everyone, even our enemies (Luke 6:27). But this is a love not as our culture defines it. Our culture’s version of love is ambiguous and rooted in good feelings. For Christians, love is defined in 1 Corinthians 13. It is patient, persevering, and courageous. This is not a love defined exclusively for dating or marital relationships, but even for how we love those who might oppose us. It is this kind of love that God shows his people and we show others; neighbors, enemies or anyone in between.
