Hunters Glen Family,
Happy belated New Year! The Slaughters are alive and doing well! Rachel and I want to say, thank you for your prayers in the safe arrival of baby Ethan Gabriel Slaughter! Ethan weighted 9lbs 13oz and was 21 inches long. He was one healthy baby!
We now have a New Year’s baby, April Fool’s Baby, two of us that share birthdays on the 4th of different months…what’s next, Lord?? HA!
I am looking forward to leading you in worship this Sunday! I have missed leading our music team.
Starting January 12, we will resume choir and orchestra rehearsals! Rehearsal time is 6:30 pm. Choir will meet in the choir room and orchestra will meet in the worship center.
I am in search of men and women who are in search of finding a place to serve. As I write this letter, I am reminded of the great hymn, “Rise Up O Men of God.” Two verses stand out.
Rise up, O men of God!
Have done with lesser things;
Give heart and soul and mind and strength
To serve the King of kings.
Rise up, O men of God!
The Church for you doth wait,
Her strength unequal to her task;
Rise up, and make her great!
I am needing some men and women who will rise up and serve the King. Men and women who will give their heart, soul, mind, and strength. We have been given a task to worship our Lord, let’s rise up and make her great! Our church has a wonderful history of making music that is pleasing to the Lord. Let’s not let Covid defeat us. It has already caused many churches to close its door. It has already caused many churches to get rid of choirs and orchestras! We will not be that church! Let’s go and continue to do what we have been called to do!
Love you church family!
Michael
