We've Got to Think Bibically
This morning we begin a new message series called “Back to the Basics.” This four-week series will cover the core principles at the heart of Hunters Glen. Today we will begin by examining the importance of “Thinking Biblically.” As Christians, we do not interpret our world through the lenses of our personal experience; instead we interpret our world through the lenses of the Bible. In other words, before we make a decision, choose a direction, or formulate an opinion, our first question must always be: “What does the Bible say?” We must allow the Bible to shape how we view our lives.
Last week you voted to extend a call to both Stuart Sumrall and Ron Killough to join our HGBC ministry team. Now that the “interim” title has been removed from their names, we look forward to many years of service with them here at HGBC.
Building renovations continue. Please continue to be faithful to fulfill your financial pledge to this exciting and much needed project. Also, as we begin to exit summer and head for fall, please consider making a generous gift to our General Operating Budget. With so many people coming and going, summer is always a challenging time for church budgeting. Help us keep on track as we enter one of the busiest times of the year. You never cease to amaze me with your generosity.
One final note…Carmen, Abigail, Rebekah, Amos, and Obadiah (our labs), and I are thrilled to begin our second year here at HGBC. Thank you for the special recognition last Sunday as we celebrated our 1-year anniversary here. I have said it before, but I am humbled and honored to lead such an amazing group of people.
Because of Jesus,
